Extensis VectorTools for Macintosh is a collection of nine powerful productivity tools for Adobe Illustrator. Version 2.0.1 adds compatibility with Adobe Illustrator 7.0
***IMPORTANT 2.0.1 INFORMATION***
Changes in VectorTools for Illustrator 6:
- Fixed a problem in which VectorTools was causing extraneous information to be saved in Illustrator EPS files.
- Fixed a problem in VectorColor and VectorShape which involved the 'Save Preset' dialog; in some situations this dialog could come up off screen.
- Fixed several small problems in VectorObjectStyles
* Important note for Illustrator 6 users: if you want to save & reuse your customized VectorBar toolbars, remove them from your VectorTools™ 2.0 folder BEFORE running this installer. If you don't, the installer will delete them.
Changes in VectorTools for Illustrator 7:
- The preset VectorBars buttons have been updated to work in Illustrator 7. VectorBar toolbar buttons from Illustrator 6 will NOT work in Illustrator 7 (and vice versa).
- The VectorMagicWand tool is now located on the main Illustrator 7 toolbar.
- VectorFrame, VectorObjectStyles, VectorMagicWand, and VectorColor now support RGB colorspace.
- VectorTips by Ted Alspach have been updated to reflect Illustrator 7 changes.
VectorTools 2.0.1 Installation Instructions:
- When prompted, choose between 'VectorTools for Illustrator 6' and 'VectorTools for Illustrator 7'. VectorBar toolbar buttons from Illustrator 6 will NOT work in Illustrator 7 (and vice versa), so if you have both versions of Illustrator you'll need to do 2 installations.
- Upon launch of Illustrator, you will be prompted for your serial number. If you have already serialized & registered your copy of VectorTools 2.0, you'll need to enter your serial number again, but you won't have to register again.

Installing and registering VectorTools
The following folders and files are installed into your Adobe Illustrator Plug-ins folder:

Launch Adobe Illustrator. During the launch, you will be requested to serialize and register the software. Please enter the serial number located on the back of the manual. If you do not have a serial number, you can choose to run VectorTools in demo mode; demo mode allows full functionality for 30 days.
Please register using one of the built-in electronic registration methods. If you do not have a modem, fax/modem, or printer, you may fill out the registration card in the back of the manual.
Microtek Scanners
Microtek scanners may interfere with the built-in electronic registration process. If you are using a Microtek scanner, please turn it off before attempting to register VectorTools. You may turn the scanner back on once the registration process is complete.
VectorLibrary Tech Note
If you have BOTH Illustrator 6 and Illustrator 7, and are running a copy of VectorTools in each, beware of Illustrator 7 objects with RGB gradients. If you save an object with an RGB gradient in your Illustrator 7 VectorLibrary, then attempt to drag that object into Illustrator 6 using VectorLibrary, a crash will occur.
If this happens, you'll need to purge your system clipboard or the crash will continue to occur * at startup of Illustrator 6 *. You can purge the system clipboard by going into another app and copying something simple (like a line of text).
Note that this also happens if you copy an object with an RGB gradient directly from Illustrator 7 to Illustrator 6 (without VectorTools).
